Today, Friday August 15, is a special day for me. I turn 42. (That is me above at age 3.) Every year on my birthday, I take a good, hard look at my life and give thanks for the wonderful life I have, and every one who got me here. So, today's post is not about eBay, but about being thankful for my health, home, family, and all of the important people in my life.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for putting up with me as a whiny kid and moody teenager. I'm sure I wasn't easy. (I hated getting up for school. I wasn't too fond of spinach, either.) We always had everything we needed, we always had a nice home, and we always knew we were loved.
Thanks, Ginny, my big sister, for paving the way for me. You are the one person I know will always be there, no matter what. (Dig the red knee socks, right?)
To my little brother, Johnny. You are my biggest supporter and the one who "gets" me. We have that "misunderstood middle child" thing going on. (I forgive you for practicing your drums outside my room while I was trying to study in high school.)
Trina, my baby sister, who always kept us laughing. You still keep surprising me! Thanks for always listening and becoming one of my best friends as an adult. (You can thank me later for NOT posting the naked baby pictures of you in the bathtub.)

To my beautiful children, I am so proud of you as I watch you grow into smart, healthy, happy people. Thank you for being easy and staying out of trouble.
And to my loved one, thank you for being my cheerleader, trusted advisor, confidante, and best friend.
Thank you, Lord, for all the blessings, good health, and wonderful people in my life. I couldn't be happier to be another year older!

On my birthday I always treat myself to a short break abroad somewhere. It's also a good excuse for not buying cakes for the whole office ;-)
And I think your husband may be a "bit big" to be a cheerleader!!
