How to Prepare for Holiday Selling - Part 3

Life is stressful. Running a home business is stressful. Now, let’s throw the holidays on top of all that and look at the stress level! Here are a few tips to help you keep your life in balance this busy holiday season.

~ Don’t over commit. The holidays are supposed to be a fun, special time for you and your family. The key is finding balance. YOU CANNOT DO EVERYTHING THAT COMES UP OVER THE HOLIDAY SEASON – IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. Choose the activities that are most meaningful to you and your family and let the rest go. Try to avoid unnecessary stress by over-scheduling yourself and your family.

~ Let some things go. In order to keep up with your business, family, and personal needs over the busy holiday season, you just have to let some things go. Martha Stewart types are rare. Maybe your house won’t be immaculately cleaned. Decorations don’t have to be perfect. Buy some pre-made cookie dough to bake instead of baking from scratch. Survival, not perfection is the key!

~ Get support. Call a friend, family member, or visit an on-line forum and vent when you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or burned out. Chat with other moms. We all understand and can give you support. Together we are stronger!

~ Remember yourself. The holidays can be about you, too! Make sure you do something you enjoy – watch YOUR favorite holiday movie, make YOUR favorite holiday dish, listen to YOUR favorite holiday music. Enjoy this wonderful time of year - don’t let stress take over.
